A welcoming space
Women in Transition is a space to pause, reflect, connect and explore the changes happening in our lives.
There is no "right" way to move through transition. We each arrive with different experiences, perspectives and needs. These agreements help us create a space where everyone can feel respected, heard and free to be themselves.
You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need to be positive, productive or have an answer.
You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
Share only what feels comfortable for you.
You always have the right to pass, sit quietly, listen, or take some time for yourself. There is no expectation that you share something simply because someone else has.
When someone is sharing, our role is to listen rather than immediately respond, compare, analyse or solve.
We can be curious about each other's experiences without needing to agree with everything we hear.
Sometimes what we need most is to be heard rather than helped.
Unless someone specifically asks for advice, we will resist the urge to fix, teach, reassure or tell someone what they should do.
Instead, we can offer presence, curiosity and compassion.
Use "I" rather than speaking for the group or assuming that someone else's experience is the same as yours.
There is room here for different opinions, beliefs, backgrounds and ways of navigating life.
What happens in the group deserves our presence.
Where possible, we agree to arrive on time, minimise distractions and give our attention to the women who are sharing.
Phones should be kept away during discussions unless needed for an agreed purpose.
This is not a space where everyone needs to think or feel the same way.
If something lands differently for you, you are welcome to express that. We ask that disagreement is expressed with curiosity and respect rather than judgement or dismissal.
You are responsible for noticing your own limits and taking care of yourself during the group.
You are welcome to step outside, take a break, decline an exercise or let the facilitator know if you need support.
We agree to respect the confidentiality of the group and not share other participants' stories or identifying information outside the group.
Please refer to the separate Confidentiality Agreement for the full details.
The facilitator is here to guide and hold the space, but the quality of the group is something we create together.
Every woman contributes to the atmosphere through the way she listens, shares, responds and respects the boundaries of others.
Most importantly, there is no need to perform here.
You don't need to be the strongest version of yourself.
You don't need to have the answers.
This is a space to be human, curious and honest — and to discover what might be possible from there.
